Both famous Gemarkenstrasse and the shopping street Rüttenscheider Strasse are in walking distance, the two of them being the central meeting points of both districts. The University Hospital in Hufelandstrasse makes Holsterhausen a top medical location. Public transportation such as tram, underground train and busses are nearby (S-Bahn, U-Bahn and bus).
